Suspects Arrested in String of Mailbox Vandalism

On 11/13/2013 investigators with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office charged 6 adults and 4 juveniles with multiple counts of Malicious Injury to property $2,000 or less after a string of mailbox vandalism that occurred over the last week. 

The group of adults (those 17 and older) and 4 juvenile have been charged with damaging 12 mailboxes in the Arrowood neighborhood on 11/09/2013.  Total damage to the property in Arrowood was estimated at $625.  

The group of adults and 1 juvenile have been charged with damaging 3 mailboxes on Gillscreek Rd. on 11/06/2013.  Total damage to the property was estimated at $201. 

The group of adults and 1 juvenile have been charged with damaging 5 mailboxes on Langley Rd. on 11/06/2013.  Total damage to the property was estimated at $500. 

Investigators have filed Juvenile Petitions with the Department of Juvenile Justice for the 4 involved juveniles.  

Those suspects 17 and older were arrested on 11/13/2013 after turning themselves in.  These five were released the same day on a$3,276 personal recognizance bond.

Aaron Todd Sowell-W/M DOB: 04/27/1995 Address: 3217 Gilliam Sowell Rd. Lancaster

Scott Alex Williams-W/M DOB: 01/02/1995 2082 Athena Rd. Lancaster, SC
 
Sheriff Faile said, “We are very pleased to get these cases resolved. It is unfortunate that these individuals took it upon themselves to damage property like this.  I hope that they learn a valuable lesson from this.”
